Series 63 Exam Prep

The state-law bolt-on. FINRA's exams qualify you to sell securities in general; the Series 63 is each state saying you're allowed to sell them to its residents in particular. Two domains carry 45% of the exam between them.

The reality: The Series 63 has a reputation for being easier than the Series 7, and it is, provided you read carefully. The questions are almost all judgment calls.

The strategy: Front-load Ethics and Communications. Together they are 45% of the exam. Then Agents and Broker-Dealers, another 25%. That's 70% of your score locked in.

The thing most people miss: NASAA writes to the primary statute text, not to any particular prep provider. When the two disagree, know both answers and pick the one closest to the 1956 Uniform Securities Act.

The same material, out loud. AS7MR is the exam-prep shop FHM shares a roof with: the Series 63 as calm audio episodes, flashcards, and mock exams. Some of the audio is built to be played while you fall asleep. That is not a metaphor. as7mr.com
